History of Kabah Sharif
History of Kabah Sharif as old as Allah sends his messengers ( Prophets) on the earth. As we know pilgrims from all over the world come to Makkah the holy city where Kabah Sharif is situated to offer haj and Umrah. The story of Hazrat Ismail (A.S), BiBi Hajirah and Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) tells us the existence of Zamzam and the history of Kabah Sharif.
The Struggle of BiBi Hajirah.
Hazrat Ismail (A.S) was the eldest son of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) from Bibi Hajirah. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) has left Bibi Hajirah and the little Hazrat Ismail (A.S ) at a place where the Kabah is situated. Hazrat Ismail (A.S) then become thirsty and become thirsty and started to cry and rub his heels on the ground. Bibi Hajirah then ran in search of water. Bibi Hajirah ran briskly seven times between the two hills.
Suddenly a spring appeared beneath the feet of Hazrat Ismail (A.S). Bibi Hajirah seeing the spring of water rushed back and she and Hazrat Ismail (A.S) drank the water to bring an end to their thirst. This spring is known as Zamzam.
People who perform Hajj and Umrah come and drink water from this spring Zamzam and take some water to their home. Safa and Marwah still exist and people are obliged to perform seven rounds of this hill. The ritual of running between the mounts Safa and Marwa is an expression of the pilgrim’s resolution. They remember the struggle of noble BiBi Hajirah.
Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) Sacrifice:
Once Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) dreamt that he was sacrificing his son for Allah. He told Hazrat Ismail about his dream.
Hazrat Ismail (A.S) without hesitation said, ‘Father do as so Allah wishes you to do. You will not find me lacking in patience or constancy.’ When Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) took his son to the hill to sacrifice him, he laid him down on his forehead. Allah called Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and said, ‘ you have fulfilled your dream’ Then Allah sent a lamb to replace Hazrat Ismail A.S which Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) sacrificed.
This was the sacrifice that we commemorate at Eid-ul-Adha. When Hazrat Ismail (A.S) grew up, he used to help his father to build the Kabah. Hence Prophets Ibrahim (A.S) and Ismail (A.S) raised the foundation of the sacred house Kabah. Allah had informed only Ibrahim (A.S) of its place.
While building the house, prophet Ibrahim (A.S) asked his son Ismail (A.S) to find a stone to be fixed as a sign. At there people may start their circumambulation. Ismail (A.S)finds a special distinguished kind of stone.
According to the Qur’an (Q.22:26)
Hajar al Aswad:
The holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) kissed the black stone (Hajar al Aswad ) while circling the house. Perhaps it was a trace from paradise, and it was carried by the hands of Ibrahim (A.S), the grandfather of prophets, and of Ismail (A.S), the father of Arabs. Special reverence and veneration are shown towards the black stone (Hajar al Aswad ) by the Muslims ever since.
